The theme of the 2019 installment is “Nouveau Society.” The show will highlight the creative and technical skills of the nearly 30 designers and merchandisers currently enrolled in the academic program. The show will include work from all students of all levels, culminating with the display of original senior collections and senior-styled lines.

“’Nouveau Society’ is a testament to the array of talents possessed by our fashion students, especially the seniors,” said Shantell Reid, an instructor in Villa’s Fashion Design and Merchandising program and the coordinator of this year’s show. “The theme of show and the designs it will present are representative of the production team’s vision of a new society, which intricately and artistically combines their dreams of the past with their ambitions and wishes for the future.”

In addition, “Nouveau Society” will reflect the College’s core value of the 2018-2019 academic year: transformation. As such, attendees can participate in a basket raffle in support of Open Arms Rescue of Western New York, a non-profit dog rescue organization that saves dogs and puppies from unwanted situations or death row and places them into loving, forever homes.

“Nouveau Society” is divided into seven segments: Mesa, Origins, Suburbia Disturbia, Silicon Society, ReStyle: The Goodwill Challenges, Avant-Garde and Merchandising. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m., door to the show open at 7:00 p.m. and the fashion show will start at 8 p.m. Entry is free and it is open to the public.
