Villa Maria Receives Federal Funding Through the CARES Act; Will Support Students During the COVID-19 Crisis

Through the CARES Act, Villa Maria College has received funds from the federal government, which will be distributed directly to students who have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

This funding is to assist students with expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the Coronavirus, including eligible expenses under cost of attendance, which are: food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare. Please refer to the CARES Act grant policy which can be found on the College’s website Villa.edu/CaresAct. Most students will qualify for some type of aid and are encouraged to apply.

Students who qualify would receive a one-time distribution of money in the following amounts:

  • Full time Pell eligible students – $1,003
  • Full time Non-Pell eligible students – $754
  • Part time Pell eligible students – $503
  • Part time Non-Pell eligible students – $377

Students who qualify will be notified by the Office of Financial Aid and the award will be sent to you directly via a check or by ACH deposit in the bank account that you have provided to the Student Accounts office. If you need to update your contact information, please click here.

Please note that these funds may be taxable under the law. The application period closes on July 15, 2020.
