CARES Act Student Aid
The federal government has provided monetary relief to college students called CARES Act Student Aid. Villa Maria College will distribute these funds to assist students who have experienced a financial hardship due to the Coronavirus. Students may use this aid for eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance, which are: food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare. Students can apply for funding starting immediately through June 30, 2020. Awards will be sent directly to students via check or ACH deposit beginning two weeks from the opening application date through July 15, 2020. All students are encouraged to apply.
CARES Act funding will be distributed to those who apply using a weighted percentage based on financial need and enrollment status.
- Full time Pell eligible students – $1,003
- Full time non-Pell eligible students – $754
- Part time Pell eligible students – $503
- Part time non-Pell eligible students – $377

CARES Act funding is available to all Title IV eligible students who are enrolled at Villa Maria College as of April 30, 2020. The College will award funds to any qualifiying student between this date and July 15, 2020. Any remaining funds that are available at the end of the distribution period will be awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional need on a case-by-case basis as determined by the Financial Aid office. Awards will be processed by the Student Accounts office.
