Villa Maria College Announces Three Appointments to its Board of Trustees

Villa Maria College is pleased to announce the appointment of three Western New York residents to its Board of Trustees.  Each will serve a renewable three-year term.

Thomas J. Bienias is a 32-year veteran of the healthcare industry and a past president of the Healthcare Industries and Trade Association. The former CEO and President of Ethox International, Inc. and co-founder of Medical Device Manufacturing Company, Bienias most recently worked for a large publicly-held company in Sweden, providing leadership in the transition and integration of the company into its new USA-based parent. Tom currently serves on numerous company Boards of Directors. He is a resident of East Aurora, NY.

Carole Sedita is a former teacher, administrator and director of staff development for the Buffalo Public Schools. She has served on numerous boards, including the Nardin Academy Board of Trustees; the Buffalo Green Fund Board; the Collectors/Members Gallery at the Albright Knox Art Gallery; the Garret Club, and the SUNYAB Graduate School of Education Alumni Board, in addition to a variety of other community volunteer activities. Sedita resides in the city of Buffalo.

Dominica Zwirecki Sortisio is an enterprise account executive with Benefitfocus, Inc., a leader in cloud-based employee benefit administration. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has more than 25 years of leadership, account management and sales experience. Before joining Benefitfocus, Sortisio previously worked for Aon Hewitt and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. She and her husband had the privilege of traveling to Rome with the Felician Sisters for the Beatification of Mother Angela Truskowska. She resides in Lancaster, NY.
