This week, Villa Maria’s men’s basketball team learned they received an at-large bid for the USCAA Tournament. Ranked at No. 7, the Vikings will take on the No. 10 seed, Great Bay Community College, on Monday, March 13 at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia.

“Hearing our name called Sunday evening was surreal,” said Desmond Randall, Villa Maria’s director of athletics. “First it was a feeling of relief, then once you take that deep breath you feel the happiness and excitement. I am extremely happy for my guys and even more proud of them. They deserve this opportunity, and we can’t wait to go play for a national title.”

However, March 12th-15th we can change that narrative and be remembered as the resilient, ambitious, and most importantly, champions.”

The men finished their regular season with a winning record of 19-10. This year, the men’s basketball team was led by Head Coach Desmond Randall and Assistant Coach Devon Camel.
