Strong Showing for Graphic Design Students at AAF Buffalo’s Advertising Awards Show

Every year, a group of graphic design students and faculty attend AAF Buffalo’s Award Show. Villa Maria’s students and alum have always received recognition for their work, and this year was no exception.

Fifteen awards were given to student designers; Villa Maria students won 9 of them.

The 2022 Student ADDY Award winners are:

Henny Zack, ‘21 — Silver for “Earth 2020 Paper Toy:” Elements of Advertising – Illustration – Single

Katelynn Steckstor, ’21 — Silver for “Physicians Formula Brand Identity:” Cross Platform – Integrated Brand Identity Campaign

Kelsey Sikora, ‘23 — Silver for “Human Rights Awareness Campaign:” Cross Platform – Integrated Brand Identity Campaign

Henny Zack — Silver for “The Stranger Book Jacket:” Sales & Marketing – Collateral Material – Publication Design – Book Design

Lindsay Neilson, ’21 — Gold for “Anode Festival:” Cross Platform – Integrated Brand Identity Campaign

Lindsay Neilson — Student Best of Show for “Anode Festival:” Integrated Brand Identity Campaign

This marks the third consecutive year in which a Villa Maria student has won Student Best of Show. Last year, Zach Huber’s “Save The Trees Brand Campaign” won, with Henny Zack’s “Branded Paper Toy” being named the first runner-up, and Lindsay Neilson’s “Blackpink North American World Tour” being named second runner-up. In 2019, Francesca Bubb, ‘19, won for her Integrated Brand Identity Campaign for the Calle Rica Food Truck.

In addition to a strong showing in the student award category, four graphic design alumni earned recognition for their contributions to some of the award-winning entries in the professional category:

  • Brittney Sikora, ‘14, with White Bicycle — Gold for “Buffalo Commons Charter School:” Cross Platform – Integrated Brand Identity Campaign – Local or Regional/National
