Lindsay Klaus, ’13, Returns to Villa Maria as the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program

Lindsay Klaus Headshot2013 graduate Lindsay Klaus returned to campus this semester, this time as a faculty member. Klaus was hired to be the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education for Villa Maria’s Physical Therapist Assistant program.  
In her new role, Klaus will facilitate the internship placement for all PTA students into two semesters of study. Further, she will develop, coordinate, and monitor the programming related to student internships. Klaus is now responsible for ensuring program compliance with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) clinical education requirements and collaborating with the internship site coordinators and clinical instructors to ensure that the internship experience meets program objectives. And finally, Klaus will teach courses in the PTA Program. 

“As an alumna, I have a solid understanding of Villa Maria’s PTA program,” said Klaus. “I am dedicated to working hard and collaborating with the team to accomplish excellent student outcomes on the National Physical Therapy Examination, as well as job placement.” 

Klaus comes with over ten years of clinical experience, including working directly with interns. Most recently, she worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at the McGuire Group in West Seneca. There, she was responsible for providing exercise treatments to medically complex, sub-acute rehabilitation, geriatric populations in SNF settings. She has also worked as a Clinical Instructor, Clinc Site Coordinator, a Personal Trainer, Exercise Physiologist, and more. 

She has already begun working in preparation for the spring semester.  

Klaus holds a master’s degree in clinical Exercise Physiology from Northeastern University, a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine from West Chester University, and an associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from Villa Maria College.
