Graphic Design Students Win Big at 2014 WNY ADDYs

Four Villa Maria College Graphic Design students took home eight awards in total at the 2014 Western New York ADDYs, given by the Advertising Club of Buffalo, during a ceremony at the Tralf Music Hall on Main Street, on Friday night.

Brittney Sikora ’14 took five awards, winning Student Best of Show; a Gold Student ADDY for Sales Promotion, Packaging and a People’s Choice Award for her Bread Box packaging submission; and a Gold Student ADDY for Collateral Material, Poster. Her fifth award, a Silver ADDY for Ad Industry Self-Promotion, Integrated Campaign, was created during her internship with Riveter Design, and competed with other professional work.

Taking home the Gold Student ADDY for Collateral Material, Brochure or Annual Report was Leah Alles ’15, with her Tree Brewery annual report. While Carl Hunley ’16 won a Gold Student ADDY for Integrated Campaign, Consumer for his Dapper Kids clothing brand, and Cassidy Smith ’16 won a Silver Student ADDY for Sales Promotion, Packaging for her Dominoes packaging.

The ADDY Awards is the world’s largest advertising competition with over 5,000,000 entries annually. Unique among other advertising creative competitions, the ADDYs is the only competition that includes local, regional, and national levels. The Advertising Club of Buffalo administers the Western New York awards.
