Villa Maria’s art and literary student publication
SKALD
SKALD
SKALD, Villa Maria’s art and literary magazine, returned in 2023. Guided by faculty, the publication is designed by graphic design students and contains academic work of student photographers, writers, designers, artists and more.
SKALD 2024 won a gold award at AAF Buffalo’s 2025 American Advertising Awards! The publication was recognized in the professional category, beating out entries from the biggest advertising agencies in Western New York.
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association and AAF Buffalo have recognized past issues of SKALD with many accolades, including Silver and Gold Crown Awards and American Advertising Awards.
All work featured in SKALD is submitted by students voluntarily and juried by faculty.
