Villa Maria College to Run 8 Virtual Summer Camps

As social distancing continues, Villa Maria College has announced that it plans to run 8 virtual summer camps. High school students in the Western New York area and beyond are invited to participate in any number of the four-day long camps.

“Our Summer Camps are a welcome tradition at Villa Maria College,” said Dr. Ryan Hartnett, Villa Maria’s vice president for academic affairs. “They’re a great opportunity for younger people to explore a career interest and college classes in a relaxed, yet informative way. The camps are all designed to be both educational and fun.”

Following is a list of the camps the College is hosting, and the dates and times on which they will take place:

  • Intro to Digital Storytelling — July 6-9, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Creative Writing/Flash Fiction — July 6 – 9, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Jazz — July 13-16, 8:30 AM -12:30 PM
  • Drumming — July 13-16, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Supernatural and Suspense Fiction — July 20-23, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Fantasy Fiction — July 20-23, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Pocket Cinema — July 27-30, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Comedic Writing & Character Development — July 27-30, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Camp pricing starts at $250 per camp with discounts offered for students attending multiple camps. All camps will be conducted via Zoom and are taught by faculty and staff members who are experts in their fields.
