By March 22, 2017Press Release

Buffalo, NY – Villa Maria College was named a finalist in Buffalo Business First’s annual Best Places to Work. Finalist status was determined upon review of a 30-question survey that gathered information about employee satisfaction in regards to communication and resources, individual needs, manager effectiveness, personal engagement, team dynamics and trust in leadership. More than 70 of Villa’s 104 full-time employees responded to the confidential survey.

The following two passages were submitted by Villa employees:

  • “Regardless of your position, faculty, administration and staff interact well with each other. When an issue or problem arises, we work as a ‘common one’ to resolve it. Opinions are heard and weighed and respected.”
  • “It’s not unusual for my colleagues to pop into my office and remind me that I’m doing good work, even if the day has been particularly challenging.”

“We’ve worked hard to build a community that is primarily student centered, but still enables our faculty and staff feel supported, challenged and fulfilled,” said Jo-Ann Formoso, Villa’s Director of Human Resources. “Our unique culture is made of positivity, transparency and collaboration that aren’t found everywhere. It is motivating to find that the majority of our employees feel Villa Maria College is one of the best places to work in Western New York, and we are proud of this recognition.”
