Speaker Sr. Helen Prejean Talk

Villa Maria College will have the honor to host international speaker Sister Helen Prejean, as she speaks passionately on her crusade to abolish the death penalty. In 1992 she wrote a best-selling book called Dead Man Walking, about her experience accompanying a man on death row to his execution. In 1995 it was turned into a movie starring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn (Sarandon won an Academy Award for her performance!). The book has been turned into a graphic novel and she wants to share her story with young people as she promotes justice and peace for all. A number of her books will be provided to students.
