Professor’s Work Becomes Centerpiece for “Dark Arts” at Local Galleries

150 150 Villa Maria College

Not exactly a professor of the “dark arts,” Adam Weekley, an instructor of fine arts at Villa Maria College, has taken center stage with his new installation now on exhibit at the galleries of the Buffalo Art Studio located at 2495 Main Street.

Picture this.  A mannequin with no head and no legs draped in a long faux fur coat, dimly lit in the Studio’s largest gallery.  The words “dark art” are just one descriptor for Weekley’s entire installation consisting of paintings, drawings and scultpures.  Weekly, both a painter and a sculptor and one of many Beyond/In Western New York artists, has exhibits running concurrently at the Buffalo Art Studio and the Castellani Art Museum. Colin Dabkowski, contributor to The Buffalo News reviews Weekley’s installation in “Dark Art Abounds At Buffalo Arts Studio.”
