On Thursday, October 17, 2013, Villa Maria College wills host major art colleges and universities from throughout New York State and beyond for its fourth “Portfolio Day.”
Student artists from high schools throughout Western New York will have the opportunity to meet with art faculty and receive valuable feedback on their artwork and portfolios along with recommendations for meeting the many criteria necessary for acceptance into art school.
Faculty will evaluate student work in all art disciplines ranging from fine art to photography. Past participating colleges included Villa Maria College, sponsor and host of the annual event, SUNY Buffalo, Houghton College, Buffalo State College, SUNY Fredonia, Cleveland Institute of Art, Savannah College of Art & Design, Roberts Wesleyan College, Syracuse University and many others.
“Portfolio Day is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to receive professional critique and consider what various colleges have to offer for future study,” said Dr. Matthew Giordano, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs at Villa Maria College. “We are very pleased to welcome the many different colleges and universities who participate in this annual event which benefits students throughout Western New York.”
Portfolio Day is Thursday, October 13, and will run from 10am to 1pm.
