Local Western New York newspaper, the Am-Pol Eagle has turned its archives into a photographic retrospective to celebrate Villa Maria College’s 50th anniversary in 2011.

Now on display in Villa Maria College’s library are words and photos recounting its past and present as reported and forever “captured” in time by reporters and staff of the area’s major source for Polish community news and information, theAm-Pol Eagle.  Known as the “Voice of Polonia,” the Am-Pol Eagle celebrated its own 50th anniversary in 2010, after beginning weekly distribution of its newspaper back in September, 1960.  In addition to its committment to the Polish community, the publication has also been a mainstay of local Western New York (WNY) news and information.

Members of the WNY community may view the Am-Pol Eagle’s retrospective of Villa Maria College free of charge during College library hours which run from 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and on Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. For more information on Villa Maria College’s 50th anniversary, visit http://www.villa.edu/50
