Senior Photography major Paige Berkheiser is set to show her alternative photography collection “Cracking the Food Code,” at Aurora Brew Works. An opening reception is scheduled for April 26 from 6 PM-8 PM.
“Food is a large part of our everyday lives. America and its food is an amalgam of many different cultures. The purpose of this project is to take a moment to see the little details in and around food” says Berkheiser. “Cracking the Food Code is an exhibition of alternative-process photography highlighting the unique way we experience food in our lives. The exhibition features one-of-a-kind Gum Bichromate prints, an early 19th century photographic process. Mixing chemicals and hand printing in a process similar to following recipes in the kitchen, Berkheiser explores love, effort, and passion, as well as many other desires of exploring our society and its cuisine.”
Aurora Brew Works is located at 191 Main St, East Aurora, NY 14052.
