Villa Maria College’s Fashion Design and Merchandising program is holding their annual fashion show Transformation – by Design, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

The show is an opportunity for students in both the merchandising and design track of the program to showcase their skills and techniques in front of a live audience. Students in the program organize and plan the show, which includes student-made original designs, creations, and installations.

As attendees enter the auditorium, they will be able to visit the multi-sensory trend forecasting installation, an idea Fashion Merchandise and Design professor Dr. Joycelyn Burdett was inspired by while attending an event Paris.

“Students have created a space where attendees will be immersed in the spring and summer 2015 trends,” Fashion Trends instructor Laura Taylor explains. “These environments will captivate your senses in experiencing the future.”

This year the students are teaming up with local non-profit organization Dress for Success Buffalo. A portion of the ticket proceeds will be going directly to the organization which helps promote the economic independence of under-resourced women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and career development tools.

Tickets are $10 pre sale/$15 at the door for general admission. VIP tickets, which include admission to the VIP reception, are $20 pre-sale and $25 at the door.

A private, co-educational, Catholic college, Villa Maria offers students a unique experience to learn and grow with a culturally diverse student population and a growing baccalaureate culture that lives its values of truth, charity, and unity.
