Speaker Sr. Helen Prejean Talk

Villa Maria College is pleased to announce a talk by international speaker Sr. Helen Prejean. She is a long-time advocate for the elimination of the death penalty. In 1992 she wrote a book called Dead Man Walking, about her experience accompanying a man who was on death row. In 1995 it was turned into a movie starring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn (Sarandon won an Academy Award for her performance!). The book has been turned into a graphic novel and Sr. Prejean wants to promote it primarily among young people. She is coming here to speak on Wednesday, March 18 during the campus hour. A number of her books will be provided to students.
