Villa Maria College will once again host major art colleges and universities from throughout the region in its annual Portfolio Day on Thursday, October 16. The event will run from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the college Athletic Center, and local high school student artists from throughout Western New York will have the opportunity to meet with art faculty and receive valuable feedback on their artwork and portfolios.
During these talks, students will also learn about recommendations for meeting the many criteria necessary for acceptance into art school.
“Portfolio Day is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to receive professional critique and consider what various colleges have to offer for future study. We are very pleased to welcome the many different colleges and universities who participate in this annual event which benefits students throughout Western New York,” said Dr. Matthew Giordano, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Villa Maria College.
Faculty will be on hand to evaluate student work in all art disciplines including, but not limited to animation, fine art, graphic design, and photography.
