Errol Daniels Artist Talk @ Paul William Beltz Family Art Gallery, Villa Maria College | Buffalo | New York | United States

As part of his exhibit “Butterflies and bees: Images of golden gloves boxing,” currently in the Paul WiIlliam Beltz Family Art Gallery, photographer Errol Daniels will give a gallery talk on Tuesday, October 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The show runs through Friday, October 31, and was reviewed in the recent issue of Artvoice.

About the artist:

Photography found Errol Daniels in the 1960’s while he worked in the Civil Rights Movement in Chicago. He found himself drawn to social documentary photography because it provides him access to the daily lives, cultures, traditions, and events that shape the lives of his subjects.

He studied with documentary photographers Amy Arbus, and John Goodman to further develop his craft and style of social documentation. The genre has enabled Daniels to best reveal the complex nature of his subjects, who often are challenged by physical, social, mental, or political disadvantages. Through his photography, he exposes the dignity, humanity, complexity, and courage of the people he photographs.

Daniel’s exhibits have been hosted by galleries in cities such as Buffalo NY to New York City, Spartanburg SC, Colorado springs CA and Washington DC. His photographs can be found in the collection of the George Eastman House in Rochester NY, The Spartanburg County Museum of Art in South Carolina, The Burchfield-Penney Art Center in Buffalo, NY, as well as in private collections.
