Jahi James is a 21-year-old student from Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY. Jahi will graduate from the University at Buffalo with a BA in Urban and Regional Analysis at the end of the Spring 2016 semester.

In January of 2015, while only a college junior, Jahi founded Noah’s ARK. The goal of this not-for-profit organization is to tie entrepreneurial innovation to neighborhood economic growth. Noah’s ARK seeks to create a platform where entrepreneurs in fields ranging from music to technology can showcase their talents and potential to interested third parties. A portion of the investment between third parties and entrepreneurs is then funneled into local underprivileged communities.

Jahi will discuss the circumstances that led him to establish Noah’s ARK and the academic odyssey it has taken him on as he pursues educational opportunities and credentials to help him realize his vision for the organization. He will also talk to us about how members of the Villa community might get involved in this (or similar) project(s).

This event will be hosted by the Liberal Arts & Professional Studies Dept.
