Despite the lackluster forecasts and declining higher education enrollment numbers from institutions across the nation, Villa Maria College has posted an increase in enrollment over last year. Total enrollment rose to 490 students over last year’s total of 465. While still representing growth at a time when some local colleges are struggling, the number does fall slightly short of the semester goal.
As reported in Buffalo Business First, the news comes amidst busy summer and fall seasons for Villa, with the launch of a new visionary plan, academic programs, a Student Success Center, and the welcoming of new Vice President for Development, Thomas P. Honan.
“Our vision statement is to be the premiere student-centered college in Western New York,” said Dr. Matthew Giordano, vice president of academic affairs in the article. “I really do think we are extremely well-poised to make that vision a reality.”
