Renowned poet, translator and photographer Don Cellini will be visiting Villa’s campus on Thursday, October 24. While on campus he will visit with students, faculty and staff in a handful of events.
Cellini is the author of a number of poetry collections, the most recent is a 2010 collection “Translate Into English.” In addition to publishing his own poetry, he has translated a number of poetry collections including “Candidates for Sainthood” and “Desire I Remember but Love, No” both published in 2013. His 2010 translation “Elías Nandino: Selected Poems” is the first book-length translation of the Mexican poet.
He will begin the day with a reading, followed by a workshop and then a discussion of translation in the afternoon. A detailed schedule is listed below:
