Their large staff of over 120 employees makes them very unique because no matter what the client wants there is always someone there that can achieve the goal.

What is their approach to design, is there a specific style?

Gelia’s approach to design is to conduct intense research to gain insight into their clients’ audience to fully understand what they want. I would not say there is a specific style because it is such a large company.

Why should you know about them?

Founded in 2001, The Martin Group’s goal is to do their absolute best on every project they encounter from their largest to smallest clients. Through strategic collaboration, employing those with specific expertise in the design field, and a new, never-before-seen way to tell stories, they can achieve almost anything.

What makes them unique?

TMG stands out because of their full service development process. With roughly eight departments including public relations, internal branding, and media services, this firm will meet any need imaginable.

What is their approach to design, is there a specific style?

I would not say they have a specific style, it is always different depending on the client and their needs. But when glancing at their work page it seems like they do an amazing job in doing just that.

Crowley Webb

Why should you know about them?

Since 1986, Crowley Webb has been furiously dedicated working hard to make their clients happy. They are also a member of AMIN Worldwide, which consists of over 50 marketing firms. Their relationship with AMIN has gives them strong collaboration opportunities. Crowley Webb has also just recently expanded with a new location in Rochester, New York.

What makes them unique?

CW’s approach is to put clients’ needs first. They roll up their sleeves and do what needs to be done. The end result is always outstanding.

Their style is very straight forward and clean-cut, which makes it easy to understand the message.

Parkway Digital they offer their clients extensive expertise in back-end coding and front-end design. This combination enables Parkway to deliver websites that offers a meaningful user experience and are also easy to manage on a day to day basis.

This group is small, but offers its clients everything digital, from a new website, to a complete digital strategy.

With an emphasis on uder experience, Parkway develops a strategy that takes advantage of all forms of digital to help clients meet their goals.

Block Club is a very community-oriented agency that is staffed by people who have several different career backgrounds. With only 11 employees, this small agency packs a punch for strategy and branding capabilities.

What makes them unique?

They are award-winning and very involved in the Buffalo community. Block Clubs goal is to use design to “inform, inspire, and build the community.”

What is their approach to design, is there a specific style?

Block Club’s style appears to be somewhat retro with a modern twist. Their use of color is very vibrant but everything they do still looks clean and well put together.

Quinlan

Why should you know about them?

Specializing in video production, web design/development, and digital content, this 29-year-old full-service agency is cutting edge in the Buffalo area. They are a good resource to follow, as the content found in their blog is practical and straightforward. You can tell that they’ve done their research and they apply it in their creative.

What makes them unique?

Their sense of humor and ‘approachability.’ If you need a good chuckle, you can check out their web video series “Casual Fridays.”

What is their approach to design, is there a specific style?

Quinlan’s fun illustrative approach can be seen in some of their animated video commercials. (See Sahlen’s hot dog commercial, with character design by Villa Alum Grace Gruarin.) But, that doesn’t mean they can’t execute the more practical looking, professional design pieces as seen in their re-branding for Immco Diagnostics.
