This $2,500 annual award is guaranteed for any student who previously participated in the Bison program • Renewable for 4 years • Unlimited recipients

- Unlimited number of eligible students may receive the scholarship
- Students retain their full Pell and TAP awards (if applicable)

The Bison Distinguished Scholar Award
One Full-Tuition Scholarship • Awarded Annually to the Top Bison Scholar
This elite, last-dollar scholarship is awarded to one exceptional Bison Scholar who demonstrates strong academic performance and commitment to success.

- Books and supplies included
- Priority selection of a college mentor through Villa Maria’s Mentoring Program
- Villa retains the remainder of Pell and TAP after eligible refund (if qualified)
Who’s Eligible
- Must be a Bison Scholar admitted to Villa Maria College
- Must apply separately for the Distinguished Scholar Award
- Must maintain a 2.8 GPA

Free Books and Supplies
It’s no secret that textbooks and supplies are an expensive, out-of-pocket cost that students and their families are responsible for paying. Not at Villa. Every student receives all the materials that are essential to their success on the first day of every semester – for no additional cost. Free NFTA Bus Pass
Villa Maria eliminated one of the biggest barriers to education for our students – transportation. If you can’t get to campus, you can’t succeed. Every student will get an NFTA bus pass for free.. There is no cost to students and nothing they need to do to qualify for it; it’s available to anyone who is enrolled in classes. *The pass is only valid during the academic year, which runs August through May.
The Student Success Center
All students need academic help at some point in their college career. At Villa, there’s a whole team of people dedicated to making sure it’s available. The Student Success Center is available to students the summer before their first year of classes even starts. The Summer Bridge Program allows incoming students to establish a relationship with the tutors and mentors that will work with them the entire time they’re a Villa Viking. Beyond that, the SSC offers all students free and unrestricted access to tutors, academic coaching, accessibility services, and more. All tutors are certified by the National Tutoring Association.
The Care Center
The Care Center provides supportive services to promote emotional well-being and enhance personal growth that contribute to students’ academic success. Our staff collaborate with campus offices to create additional programming to assist in the overall development of students.
