THE WRITING WORKSHOP

As part of its mission and its continuing commitment to its students, Villa Maria College ensures that all students, whether majoring in the liberal arts or other disciplines, are exposed to courses where writing opportunities are plentiful and intensive.  Of all the skills that can be learned, there cannot be enough emphasis placed on the doors that will be opened to you, if you can communicate effectively through your words. 

The Writing Workshop is, as the name suggests, a place for you to develop and refine your writing skills.  Within this section of our website you will find pages that offer you access to writing assignments, links and resources to expand your knowledge, samples of essays and case studies that offer examples of effective (and ineffective) writing techniques, and more.

We encourage you to take advantage of the information offered here, obtain assistance through our on-campus Academic Success Center and meet with your professors and/or student advisors.  We want you to be a successful student at Villa Maria College, but, more importantly, we want you to be a success in life.  Writing well is a big step toward that end.
