Your investment in the future…
Are your resources aligned with your goals? Are you using your money to do what you really want done? There is no better investment you can make than supporting the quest of young people for higher education. For each generation’s future, for the nation’s future, nothing comes close to the benefits of enhanced brainpower.
Tuition and fees have risen nearly three times as fast as the median family income. Cash – strapped families who want their children to have a college education are faced with increased debt load. Therefore, scholarship and grant assistance are very important. YOU are very important in helping Villa Maria College through contribution of endowed or annual scholarships.
Donors contribute $10,000 to Villa Maria College for the explicit purpose of creating a scholarship. The donation may be a one-time gift or extended over a period of time. Scholarships will be awarded after the corpus reaches the $10,000 goal.
Scholarships are awarded from the interest accrued in the account. Generally, scholarships are awarded when the interest earned is at least $500.
Donors who choose to donate less than $10,000 but at least $1000 may establish a scholarship to be distributed over a set period of time. The corpus of the money is included in the college endowment and earns interest.
Scholarships are awarded from the corpus and the interest annually at a predetermined amount. The scholarship ceases when the funds are exhausted.
May others add to an endowed fund?
YES! Often relatives, friends and associates who share the donor’s interests also add to these funds. There is no maximum level for an endowed fund, and additional donations can be made to the fund at any time.
Donors may donate a set amount annually to be restricted for scholarships. Scholarships are awarded only in those years when funds are received. Amount of the scholarship is dependent on the donor. The Vice President for Development is responsible for securing the donations annually
