A celebration! Professor Joyce Kessel’s poetry has been published in A Celebration of Western New York Poets, edited by Patricia Tansey. The collection focuses on the incredible poetic talent here in Western New York.

Professor Joyce B. Kessel is chair of the Liberal Arts department at Villa.

A Celebration of Western New York Poets contains the Professor Kessel’s poems “At Abiquiu,” “Intonations,” and “Buffalo Icons.” This latest publication adds to Professor Kessel’s list of published poetry. her poetry has appeared in many journals and anthologies, including several Buffalo News poem of the week.She is is a current editor of Earth’s Daughters, a feminist literary and arts journal published in Western New York.  Her most recent book is Describing the Dark. The Creative Writing and Literature department is very proud to have Professor Kessel as a part of the Creative Writing and Literature program.
