Special Program Notes

Villa’s Photography Program is the only course of study in Western New York where extensive training is provided in techniques and skills necessary for success in commercial studio/freelance photography, with a strong foundation in artistic impression.

The large format, studio lighting, and color photography classes at Villa are unique to Buffalo.

A Cooperative Education Internship, which is required in this program, complements hands-on training and provides students with practical work experience prior to entering the field.

Photography faculty are working professionals with international reputations who have had their work published in books, newspapers, national magazines, and professional journals. Faculty also show their works regularly in galleries and museums.

Students exhibit their work in an on-campus gallery and participate in a variety of external exhibitions and competitions.

An articulation agreement with The State University of New York College at Buffalo allows Villa graduates easy transfer into a baccalaureate photography program.
