Villa Maria College presents the 15th Annual High School Juried Photography Exhibition May 29 - June 12. The event featured an opening night reception on Friday, May 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Paul William Beltz Family Art Gallery on the ground floor of the Villa Maria College campus.

Award winners , selected from over 150 submitted photos from twenty-one different school districts, included:

* First Place - Brittney Sikora, Depew

* Second Place - Troy Smith, West Valley

* Third Place - Kim Whitbeck, Lancaster

* Honorable Mention - Ashley Abbott, Mt. St. Mary's; Kelli Mikula, Clymer Central; Jamie Russell, The Norman Howard School (Rochester); Colin Gordon, St. Joseph Collegiate Institute; Michella Hayden, North Collins,

* Villa Maria College $500 Scholarship Winners were Ashley Abbott from Mt. St. Mary's, and Danielle Stacklyn from The Norman Howard School (Rochester). Both students are entering Villa's photography program in the Fall 2009 semester.

This year's exhibiting high schools included:

Attica, Cheektowaga Central, Charter School of Applied Technologies, Christian Central Academy, Clymer Central, Depew, Gowanda Central, Lewiston Porter, Mount Mercy Academy, North Collins, Orchard Park, Pioneer, St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, The Norman Howard School in Rochester, West Seneca West, West Valley, Williamsville North.

Awards were presented at a special opening ceremony in the on-campus Villa Art Gallery. All works are on display until June 15.
