Program Description
The Natural Sciences and Mathematics program is designed to prepare students for transfer to four-year programs. Students take courses in the basic sciences (biology, chemistry, physics) as well as mathematics and statistics. Natural Sciences and Mathematics provides an excellent foundation for students interested in the health profession.
Career Potential & Employment Outlook
According to the Occupational Handbook (2008-2009 edition), health science workers can expect better-than-average employment opportunities over the next several years, for example employment of physician assistants is expected to grow 27% from 2006 to 2016. Employment of clinical lab workers (medical technicians) is expected to grow 14% between 2006 and 2016.
