The Program
The Graphic Design Program at Villa provides the professional skills necessary to prepare the student for employment or transfer in utilizing both traditional and electronic means.
Technical and aesthetic aspects of the design process are examined and developed using state-of-the-art computer equipment and software. To meet current industry standards, special emphasis is paid to multimedia and interactive design. Web-site development is also investigated.
Conceptual problem solving will be explored through studies in graphic design fundamentals, typography, digital imaging, computer design as well as a wide variety of art electives to enhance student skills.
Students will be well-rounded in print media using both conventional and electronic methods of problem solving to assure success upon graduating from our program.

Villa’s strong emphasis on innovative thinking combined with a thorough understanding of design theory provides students with the greatest potential for success in this exciting and rapidly expanding field.
Villa’s Graphic Design Program is an award winning program. Competing against other area colleges and universities, Villa is proud to acknowledge that we are the only two-year institution to take top honors in design and publication categories on both a local and national level.
In addition, the student work is featured annually in the campus gallery.
Graphic Design students are required to develop an electronic portfolio of selected design pieces used to accompany their final resume and portfolio package. This impressive addition provides potential employers with an overview of the student, and further reinforces their technical design skills.
