The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) has an education budget of $1,000,000. The NIAF will award scholarships and grants to outstanding students in the summer of 2010 for use during the following academic year. The American Indian Education Foundation offers over 100 scholarships to Native American Students every year. Students must be from a state or federally recognized tribe, be a full-time undergraduate, and plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school. Awards are between $1,500 and $3,000 and students must reapply every year. In addition to scholarship funding, AIEF provides mentoring and support for students receiving the scholarship. The Association on American Indian Affairs offers the David Risling Emergency Aid Scholarships in amounts ranging from $100-$400 for acute, temporary emergencies. Emergency aid is available during both fall and spring semesters for expenses accrued during the Fall and Spring semesters only. No Summer Funding is Available. Students may receive only one scholarship per academic year. There is no deadline for application. Scholarship disbursement is based on availability of funds. Applicants must have a critical/sudden need due to a change in circumstances (death in family, medical emergency, car emergency, loss of job, etc.), a need that wasn’t expected or would prevent the student from attending school. Outstanding tuition and books are not generally considered an emergency.

The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Emilie Hesemeyer scholarships in the amount of $1,500 with a preference given, but not limited to, students pursuing a Major in Education.
