The Program
Computer
Management at Villa focuses on the design of computer
systems and the utilization of systems in existing networks.
Students have the opportunity to work with a variety of
programming languages and operating systems. They acquire
the needed knowledge and ability to integrate modern
computer and telecommunications equipment for multiple
users. As computer professionals, Villa graduates have
exposure to an extensive variety of equipment including IBM
personal computers, IBM compatible computers, dumb
terminals, a VAX mainframe, scanners, printers, modems,
CD-ROMS, the Internet , and others.

The liberal arts core, a combination of humanities,
natural sciences and social sciences, essential to a solid
career foundation, is required in all degree programs.
The liberal arts core for Computer Management majors is
24-26 credit hours.

Opportunities
Graduates of Villas Computer Management
Program can obtain positions in the industry ranging from
software applications support to systems analysts,
programmers, data base coordinators and network
administrators. Students will also have the necessary skills
to continue their education and professional training in the
computer communication programming, systems analysis and
design, and information management fields at baccalaureate
institutions.
Special
Program Notes
A required cooperative education internship
complements campus hands-on training and provides practical
work experience prior to entering the field. It also is an
opportunity for networking within this growing field.
Several specialized courses within the program are taught by
industry experts and are therefore available only in the
evening.
On-campus computer labs equipped with various types of
hardware and an ever-growing number of software applications
provide students with unlimited access.
