Career Development Center

Villa Maria College's Career Development Center provides a variety of services to assist students at all levels of their career planning and job search process.  This section of our website provides assistance to student job seekers, resources for employers and information on upcoming fairs and events, workshops and much more. 

A FEW OF OUR SERVICES...

Career Counseling - Assists students in exploring career options related to their interests, experiences, skills, abilities and values.

Job Search Assistance - Provides enrolled students assistance in securing part-time, temporary and summer employment as well as assisting graduates and alumni with securing permanent employment upon graduation and throughout their lifetime. Student records are maintained in the Career Center and contain copies of resumes and letters of recommendation to assist students and alumnae secure employment. Students or alumnae may request for a letter and resume to be sent to a prospective employers which will be mailed within 24 hours.

Workshops - Class seminars provide students with current information on resume and cover letter writing, dressing for success, interviewing and job search methods.  Students have the opportunity to deliver presentations in class to demonstrate their expertise and have the opportunity to engage in "mock interviews," which allow students to build on their interview skills and gain the confidence to succeed. 

Fairs & Events - A detailed listing of upcoming career fairs, workshops and other events for students and employers alike.

Resume and Cover Letter Reviews - Our staff is available to provide free critiques of resumes and cover letters. Please contact the Office of Career Development via email or phone to arrange an appointment.

Coming Soon! - Employer Job Searches/Postings - Provides employers with the opportunity to search student resumes and make available positions available for student review and application details.
