It is advisable to apply early for the following reasons:

  1. Admission to specific degree programs is often competitive.
  2. College-based scholarships are more readily available if you apply early.
Here's what we look at in considering your application.
  1. Your overall high school academic average or G.E.D. scores.
  2. Your high school academic average (English, math, science, social studies or history).
  3. Although not required for admission to Villa, we do consider your S.A.T. or A.C.T. scores for specific program course placement and scholarship options. Students are encouraged to submit SAT and/or ACT score reports or when testing designate Villa Mara College as a school of choice.
  4. The results of the Villa Maria College Assessment and Advisement Program. All Villa applicants are required to complete this before admission is finalized.
  5. Your extra-curricular and community involvement may positively affect your application.

The Villa Maria College Assessment and Placement Program (VMCAPP) measures an applicant's reading, writing and mathematical skills to place the students in levels that will assure academic success.  Components for the test include reading, computational and applied math, and a writing sample. In addition, applicants to Music Department programs are required to take a music theory and aural skills placement exam.

A student's academic profile and assessment results are used for course and program placement, and results are discussed prior to student registration.

Applicants with accredited associate and baccalaureate degrees, as well as college transfer students who qualify, are exempt.

Please write, call or e-mail the Villa Admissions Office if you have any questions or to request an application packet.
